LAURA RODRIGUEZ
Built for the Pace of Boston
Long before Laura Rodriguez was selling luxury residences in Boston’s most prestigious developments, she was building relationships in an entirely different environment.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Laura came to Boston to attend Boston College, where she quickly became known for her outgoing personality and ability to connect with people. While most students were simply enjoying the city’s social scene, Laura was unknowingly building the foundation for the career she would eventually create in real estate.
“I used to go out all the time with a big group of friends,” Laura says with a laugh. “One of the venues basically told me, ‘You come here so often, we might as well pay you to come.’”
That opportunity launched her into the world of event promotion and hospitality at some of Boston’s most recognizable nightlife venues. After graduating, she was also working in marketing and public relations during the day, balancing two demanding careers before most people her age had settled into one.
“I was working until three or four in the morning and back in the office at nine,” she recalls. “At the time, it felt normal because I enjoyed what I was doing and the people I was meeting.”
One of those connections would later lead her toward real estate. While leaving work on Marathon Monday, she stopped by a gathering on Newbury Street and, through a chance introduction, she met a luxury real estate professional who encouraged her to consider the industry.
Shortly afterward, while recovering from a hand injury back home in Puerto Rico, Rodriguez decided to pursue her real estate license.
When she returned to Boston, she joined top luxury broker Beth Dickerson as an assistant, gaining firsthand exposure to high-end residential sales and development projects throughout the city.
“That experience gave me an incredible education,” Rodriguez says. “I was able to learn the business from someone who had been successful at the highest level.”
For nearly a decade, Laura immersed herself in Boston’s luxury real estate world while still balancing nightlife and hospitality on the side. It was nonstop. Long days turned into even longer nights, and eventually, burnout began to catch up with her.
“I realized I hadn’t gone to dinner with friends in years,” she says. “I’d go for an appetizer and then leave because I had to get to work.”
Eventually, Laura made the difficult decision to walk away from both careers. She accepted a more traditional role in real estate development at Harvard University, hoping a structured nine-to-five schedule would provide more balance. Instead, it made her realize how much she missed the energy and connection of real estate.
A few years later, another opportunity emerged.
During the pandemic, Laura was recruited back into the industry to work in-house sales for a luxury development project in Boston. The position allowed her to focus on luxury new construction projects and long-term client relationships—an area of the business that aligned closely with her strengths and interests.
“I feel incredibly lucky,” she says. “This role with The Collaborative Companies fits me perfectly.”
Today, Laura serves as the Sales Director for both EchelonSeaport and The St. Regis Residences, Boston, overseeing two of the city’s most prominent luxury developments. What began as an assistant role years ago has evolved into a leadership position responsible for guiding buyers through some of Boston's most significant residential projects.
“The responsibility is different when you’re representing projects and clients yourself,” she says. “Your reputation becomes part of every interaction and every transaction.”
Despite the luxury price points and impressive numbers, Laura says the most rewarding aspect of the work remains simple: helping people find the right home.
“Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions people make,” she says. “Being trusted to guide someone through that process is something I never take for granted.”
Although she works with some of Boston's most sought-after residences and discerning clientele, Laura's philosophy remains simple: real estate is ultimately about people. She takes the time to understand each client's goals, pairing market expertise with thoughtful guidance to create an experience that feels both personal and professional.
“I genuinely enjoy meeting people and building connections,” she says. “That’s been a constant throughout every stage of my career.”
Outside of real estate, Laura’s life has evolved just as dramatically. She and her husband, Tim, recently welcomed their first child, TJ, while she simultaneously achieved one of the strongest production years of her career.
“In 2024, I was pregnant almost the entire year and had my best year in sales,” she says. “After that, I kind of felt like I could do anything.”
Looking ahead, she plans to continue growing her career in luxury development sales while maintaining the balance she worked hard to create.
“I’ve always enjoyed real estate because it combines relationships, problem-solving, and helping people,” she says. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
And after years of building connections, creating experiences, and helping shape Boston’s luxury market, it’s easy to see why.
