Theresa Jehle

An Introduction to Excellence

Girlfriends!

In the realm of luxury real estate along the Grand Strand, there's a name that resonates with excellence and dedication - Theresa Jehle. With seven years of experience as a realtor, her journey is a testament to her diverse background, unwavering commitment to her clients, and a passion for her community. She is from Buffalo, NY and got her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania majoring in International Studies. She obtained her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Theresa's venture into real estate began in 2017 when she joined Keller Williams in Hilton Head Island, SC. However, her journey took a significant turn when she made the transition to Myrtle Beach, finding her real estate home at Realty One Group Dockside.

From Property Management to Real Estate
Theresa's entry into the world of real estate came about from her experience in property management. She took charge of managing her rental property in Hilton Head Island, which not only sparked her interest but also fueled her determination to pursue a career in the industry.
Theresa reported, “I had carved a successful path in the corporate world working with the Chubb Corporation, a Fortune 500 international insurance company, where I managed the Department of Financial Institutions. However, when my first-born arrived, my desire to become a full-time mother and community volunteer led me away from corporate life.”

A pivotal moment that steered Theresa toward real estate was her father's unwavering enthusiasm for the profession. Even well into his 80s, he remained a passionate advocate for the industry. His encouragement, combined with the timing of Theresa's youngest child leaving for Clemson University, served as the catalyst for her real estate career.

Theresa's journey into real estate was a natural progression, considering her robust business and marketing background. Her passion for real estate was evident from her early days, as she dedicated hours to perusing "The Home Finder" in "The Buffalo News" every Sunday.

Embracing Change and Thriving
“My life has been a series of chapters,” Theresa relays. “Each one has been marked by my determination to seize every opportunity. “Her career transitions, from finance to motherhood and now to luxury real estate, exemplify her ability to embrace change and thrive in new environments.

Theresa shares, “One of my most significant challenges was relocating from Hilton Head Island to Myrtle Beach in the early stages of my real estate career. Relationships and connections in real estate are everything! And I did not have either here. So trying to establish myself as a luxury agent was no small feat.”   She was not going to let anything stop her. She set a goal of $1 million in sales in her first year! Her remarkable success in Myrtle Beach, where she has sold over $22 million in real estate since 2017, speaks volumes about her determination and talent.

For Theresa, the most rewarding aspect of her business is undoubtedly the people she meets along the way. Building genuine connections and helping people find their dream homes or sell their properties for top dollar brings her immense satisfaction. From a quantitative perspective, she takes pride in having marketed and sold the two most expensive residential homes in Horry County's history.

Success is a dynamic concept for Theresa, shifting with each chapter of her life. Currently, it encompasses being a devoted mother and wife, actively contributing to her community through volunteer work, and excelling as a luxury realtor. Each day, she works toward these goals, aiming to achieve a sliver of each in her daily life.

A Family-Centric Life
Theresa shares her life with her husband, a physician specializing in Emergency Medicine. He was the team doctor for the Buffalo Bills for years. Together, they have four grown children ranging in age from 24 to 32. Their shared interests include watching Buffalo Bills football, attending decorator show houses all over the country, playing golf and tennis, traveling, and gathering as a family at the beach. The decorator show houses offer her inspiration for staging her clients' homes and she loves donating to the charities these Home Showcases support.

Theresa's commitment to her community shines through her involvement in charitable organizations. She is the founder of "100 Women Who Care Grand Strand," a group dedicated to supporting local non-profits in Horry County. Additionally, she is a founding member of the "Junior League of the Grand Strand," an organization that promotes volunteerism and community improvement.

Few may know that Theresa spent part of her junior year of high school studying at a small private high school in Montpellier, France, an experience that profoundly shaped her global perspective. Additionally, she and her husband achieved the unique feat of teaching their golden retriever to water ski before they had children, an accomplishment that even made it to the evening news.

Theresa's Top Tips for Success
Theresa shares, "I always look for the win-win in a deal and I am creative with how I approach my business. I look for new ways to do things. I also admit I watch real estate shows on TV and I steal good ideas liberally! I did a champagne ‘Sip and See’ for neighbors at an oceanfront listing I had this year (saw this on a Netflix series). I thought this would be a good way for the neighbors to see the home and spread the word about it! It was a huge success, and one of the attendees gave me my next oceanfront listing which just happened to be a $6 million dollar listing! “

“Finally, I cannot say enough about staging, staging, staging! Do not overlook the importance of making the house shine! I regularly get movers to move furniture in, out, and around! It makes a difference, as does high-quality photography! Don’t shortchange the photo package! Buyers decide in two clicks if they like the home or not; don’t lose them over lousy photos!"

"One takeaway - Every experience I have had professionally and personally has set me up for the success I am having today in the luxury real estate market! They are the building blocks, and I think I am a far better realtor today because of all the experiences I have had.

Theresa concludes, “I want to be remembered professionally for marketing and selling some of the most beautiful and expensive luxury homes on the Grand Strand and for being an ultimate professional with other realtors.”
