SHERRI VERDON

The Heart Behind the Homes

When Sherri Verdon left her New Jersey roots behind to begin life with her husband, a dedicated DC police officer, she had no idea the journey ahead would lead her to become one of Southern Maryland’s most trusted names in real estate. The move brought change, but also the spark of something new - the beginning of a career built on hard work, compassion and a profound connection with people.

“Being far from my family was a challenge." Sherri recalls, "But with this change came opportunities I never imagined. With sheer luck and good timing, I was hired for a position as an assistant sales rep for a major homebuilder. “I worked tirelessly to prove that I was willing to learn and ready for the challenge."

That drive quickly turned into success. Not long after, Sherri was promoted to Sales Manager. Sherri's management style created a turning point for the home sales in the community, and the builder took notice. Sherri was then promoted to manage the builder's flagship community in Calvert County, a position that would change the course of her career and her life. "I found immense fulfillment in helping families bring their dreams to life. But what truly resonated were the relationships I built along the way.”

Sherri eventually built her own home in the community she managed, surrounded by the people she had helped. "Over a decade later, I still feel blessed to live in a place filled with love, connection, and the memories of the work I poured my heart into." Sherri explains.

When the community neared completion, Sherri made the leap from new construction sales into general real estate. Her first year? Over $10 million in sales - a testament to the relationships she had cultivated through the years. Referrals poured in from past clients who trusted her, and she continued to prioritize serving her clients with the same passion and care.

Sherri found her niche in staging homes & preparing her listings for sale - often earning her sellers multiple offers above asking price. “I stage every listing myself,” she says. “I am dedicated to helping each home to shine in its best light. Creating an experience that evokes an emotional connection with potential buyers is a critical part of the process when listing a home for sale."

She’s a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS® Hall of Fame, and a Diamond Award-winning agent. Each year, she earns Re/Max Platinum Club recognition for her notable earnings. But awards have never been the goal. "One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned comes from my mother, who taught me to recognize that everyone has a story and a struggle. If you listen with an open heart and mind, you can learn how to help. She taught me to find meaningful purpose in my work.”

Sherri’s approach blends a designer’s eye with a servant’s heart. “Listings are my specialty. Presentation is my passion." Her before-and-after photos speak volumes, highlighting the value that Sherri brings to the table. "To me, the goal is not to be a success. The goal is to add value." she says. Her hands-on approach has proven an asset to her clients.

Looking ahead, her 2025 goal is clear: continue growing her business while staying deeply connected to her family - her husband Jeremy, and their children, Tori (10) and Shane (9). "My family is my sweetest devotion." she says.

Outside of work, Sherri gives back through the Children’s Miracle Network, where she’s been recognized as a Miracle Agent, and by organizing annual community donations during the holidays. She remains an active leader in the community where she lives. "I enjoy staying connected to my community. I feel honored and valued when others seek my support or guidance." she explains.

Her advice to agents just starting out? “Lead with your heart. Learn everything you can - about everything! Invest in your clients emotionally, value every opportunity, approach your work with humility and gratitude. Success will follow when you put others first. Every transaction is a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. By staying true to that purpose, you’ll find not only success but also happiness and fulfillment beyond what you ever thought possible."

For Sherri Verdon, real estate isn’t just about buying and selling homes - it’s about building something far more impactful: valued relationships, community connection, and meaningful purpose. Behind every home sold is a story etched in her heart.
