Robbine Kim with JPMorgan Chase
Big Bank, Personal Focus
“My motivation is reignited by the heartfelt feedback I receive from my clients,” says senior home lending advisor, Robbine Kim. “Hearing them say that I’ve changed their lives or helped them achieve a dream they thought was impossible reminds me of the impact my work has.”
From an early age, Robbine learned the value of resilience and adaptability. Growing up in a family that emphasized hard work and connection, those early lessons would later become the foundation for her approach to lending—one centered on empathy, trust, and long-term relationships. Her education and early career path led her through the fast-paced world of capital markets, but when the winds shifted in 2009 with an unexpected layoff, it opened a door she hadn’t previously considered.
“At the time, a friend suggested I try the mortgage industry,” Robbine says. “Intrigued by the prospect, I decided to give it a try, and I have been passionately involved in the field ever since.”
That leap of faith turned out to be a defining career move. Now with JPMorgan Chase, Kim has built her career on providing flexible, personalized solutions for clients with nontraditional or complex income situations. Her sales background and strong interpersonal skills translated seamlessly into this new role, where helping others achieve the dream of homeownership became both a mission and a calling.
“I believe that building trust and understanding is essential in the home lending process, and I strive to ensure that each client feels valued and supported,” says Robbine. “Through my ongoing involvement and expertise in the field, I demonstrate my dedication to providing exceptional service, while also building in the human and caring aspects.”
In the beginning, however, success didn’t come without challenges. She had to navigate the complexities of a new industry while carving out a great reputation in a highly competitive space. It was her previous experience in capital markets that gave her the edge.
“I leveraged my sales skills and adapted them to a new and dynamic industry,” Robbine says. “That allowed me to grow professionally and make a meaningful impact on the lives of my clients.”
Robbine’s approach is anything but transactional. She brings a deeply human element to her work, investing time in building trust and understanding each client’s unique needs.
When it comes to her success, she says, “It’s hard to say what sets me apart from others because I don’t know what other lenders are doing, but I know what I am doing and how I run my business. I know the best in the industry prioritize delivering and committing to exceptional customer service: In addition to our traditional roles, we become skilled at navigating the complex interplay of our clients’ emotions and market demands. This unique skill set not only helps us to manage the intricacies of transactions, but also to foster trust and build lasting relationships that ultimately enhance our professional success.”
Robbine doesn’t take credit for her success alone. Her assistant, Shanna Castellano, is an integral part of their personalized approach. Together, they create a seamless lending experience for clients, ensuring deadlines are met and stress is minimized. Communication is a key pillar of Robbine’s process—not only with her clients, but also with the REALTORSⓇ and other professionals involved in a transaction.
“I actively reach out to both listing and selling agents to build strong connections and ensure a smooth transaction,” she says. “By maintaining clear communication and utilizing all my resources, I strive to create a collaborative environment.”
Outside the office, Robbine’s world revolves around her family: her fiancé, Bob, and their daughter, Adrianna (7). She shares a close bond with Adrianna, and they can often be found traveling or enjoying beach days and ski trips together. Community is also important to Robbine. She’s built strong friendships with her neighbors, and enjoys cooking, socializing, golfing, and trying new restaurants.
“When I’m not working, my favorite way to spend time is being with my daughter,” Robbine emphasizes. “Being there to support and cheer her on, such as at her martial arts training sessions or softball games, is incredibly rewarding.”
The line between work and passion often blurs for Robbine. Whether it’s sharing a client’s joy in their new home or celebrating a successful closing, she finds purpose in every step of the process, and her clients’ stories keep her going.
“The most fulfilling aspect of my work is witnessing the joy and happiness of my clients when their dreams of homeownership become a reality,” she says.
Now with over eleven years at Chase, Robbine sees her longevity as a testament to both her commitment and success. She defines success not by accolades or sales, but by the number of families she’s helped and the strength of the relationships she’s built.
“I genuinely love what I do,” she says. “The thrill of closing a deal is my adrenaline rush and my measure of success.”
Looking ahead, Robbine’s goals are as focused as ever: remain a top-producer, expand her network, and continue helping people realize their dreams. That same clarity and passion are what make Robbine a trusted name in home lending—a steady presence in an ever-changing industry.
As she puts it: “When you work with me, you will get my cell phone to contact me after 5pm and on the weekends.”
