Kristen and Steve Le Peau
Built on Purpose

Some partnerships are built on ambition. Others on balance. For Kristen and Steve Le Peau, their success comes from something deeper—a shared sense of purpose, a belief in service, and a commitment to living and working with integrity at every step.
Kristen has always been guided by a deep sense of purpose. When she moved to Denver in 1996 for graduate school, her calling was clear—she earned dual master’s degrees in Counseling and Youth Ministry and built a career as a therapist focused on at-risk youth. She worked with runaway teens at Urban Peak, launched a nonprofit to support inner-city families, and poured herself into work that created real impact. What she didn’t expect was that real estate would become another path to serve.
It began with her own investments. By her early 30s, Kristen had bought and held multiple properties—her first home, then a mountain retreat, and eventually a string of rentals. She loved the process. She loved the possibilities. And she saw how real estate could be a tool for creating generational legacy. In 2006, she got her license, thinking it would be a part-time job to support her nonprofit. But it quickly became something more.
“Real estate was the gift I never saw coming,” Kristen says. “I was already living it. Once I realized I could help other people create security and build wealth, it just made sense.”
Two years later, she met and married Steve. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, he had moved to Boulder to attend CU and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He spent several years in New York City working for CBS and ABC Sports, helping produce the Super Bowl, the British Open, and the Athens Olympics. But ultimately, he missed Colorado and returned as a traveling producer for the Golf Channel.
By 2010, Kristen’s real estate business had grown well beyond part-time—and they were ready to start the adoption process. They wanted a life built on flexibility and presence. So Steve got his license and joined Kristen full-time. The Le Peau Team was born.
“It was a little rough at first,” Kristen says, laughing. “I almost fired him four times that first year. But once we figured out our roles and how to work together, it just clicked.”
Their strengths couldn’t be more complementary. Kristen is the visionary—extroverted, driven, relationship-focused, and always thinking big. Steve is the steady hand—introverted, organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure. Kristen handles everything up to contract: lead generation, listings, negotiations. Steve manages the transaction from contract to close, overseeing timelines, communication, documents, and logistics.
“Our clients get both of us,” Kristen emphasizes. “We don’t split business. They get two experienced agents with different strengths—and that really sets us apart.”
Since 2010, they’ve closed over 700 transactions and $320 million in career volume. They’ve been the #1 producing team at PorchLight multiple times and consistently rank among Denver’s top agents. But the numbers aren’t what drive them—it’s the impact.
“Our job is to help people make smart decisions, not pressure them into anything,” Kristen says. “We care deeply about our clients. Their success becomes our success.”
That’s especially true when it comes to helping families build generational wealth. Kristen often encourages clients to hold onto properties as long-term investments, sometimes talking them out of selling altogether. It’s become a running joke between her and Steve—but it reflects their belief that real estate is about more than transactions. It’s about legacy.
It’s also given them the foundation to build their own. In 2015, they adopted three daughters from India—Sonal, Dhrasti, and Mitiksha—and have built a life full of faith, community, and intention. “Real estate gave us flexibility,” Kristen shares. “It gave us presence. A parent to pick them up from school. The time and space to help them heal. That’s everything.”
When they’re not working, Kristen and Steve enjoy pickleball, yoga, hiking, volunteering, and spending time with friends. They’re active supporters of causes like the Denver Rescue Mission, The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Project 1:27, and more. Kristen also loves to write and has a passion for hospitality, often hosting gatherings to stay connected with clients and friends.
Through it all, they’ve stayed true to who they are—building a business rooted in trust, care, and a deep belief in the work they do. “You don’t have to be someone you’re not to be successful,” Kristen stresses. “Show up. Know your stuff. Be kind. That’s how you build something that lasts.”
For Kristen and Steve Le Peau, real estate is more than a career—it’s a vehicle for connection, a reflection of their values, and the foundation of a life lived with intention. Through every relationship, every transaction, and every act of service, they continue to build something that matters—together, and with purpose.
