Josh Williams

Building a Legacy of Strength and Service

Discipline, adaptability, and teamwork—those are the traits that shaped Josh Williams long before he ever stepped into business. Today, as a Farmers Insurance agent in Broomfield, he applies those same lessons to help families and REALTORS® safeguard their homes and futures.

Those qualities were first forged on the sports field. Growing up an athlete taught Josh how to manage emotions, handle both victory and defeat with perspective, and stay composed under pressure. “In the middle of a game, you often have to make quick adjustments,” he says. “Business works the same way—success comes from learning from every outcome and being willing to adjust.”

That mindset carried him through every chapter of his career, including the early days that shaped his direction.

In 2001, Josh admits he didn’t have a clear path. After closing down his second skate and snowboard shop, he found himself with one child, another on the way, and no sense of what came next. His brother, Troy, helped him land an interview at a subprime mortgage company, and just like that, his career in mortgages began.

He found success early, earning accolades and building relationships that would define the next two decades. But it wasn’t without hardship. When the mortgage market collapsed in 2008, Josh and his family lost their home, cars, and credit. “It was one of the hardest times in my life,” he recalls. “But I never lost my drive or belief that I could rebuild.”

That resilience paid off. He spent several years on the title side before returning to loan origination in 2016. “That experience taught me what it means to start over and still find success—not just for myself, but for the people I serve.”

After more than 20 years in mortgages, Josh began to feel the pull toward something new—a business that aligned with his long-term vision and values. “I had an opportunity to get into insurance back in the early 2000s, but my success in mortgages kept me from pursuing it,” he says. “Still, I always thought it would be a great fit.”

As the market shifted again after COVID, Josh started reflecting on his next chapter. “I’d always said that if I could start my sales career over, I’d go into insurance—and one day I realized, I’m only 49… what’s stopping me?”

That decision led him to Farmers Insurance and to Tim Stuber, whose values and team-driven mindset resonated immediately. Tim’s background as a former NFL player spoke to that same competitive, collaborative spirit that Josh always had.

Building an insurance business was about more than career growth for Josh—it was about closing the loop of protection for his clients and creating a legacy for his family. “Legacy is about more than money,” Josh explains. “It’s about showing my family that when life gets tough, we have the strength to get back up and win again. The true legacy is the mindset we pass on—confidence, discipline, and work ethic.”

That same philosophy shapes how Josh serves his clients and REALTOR® partners today—by being a trusted resource for their mortgage and insurance needs and by always going above and beyond.

“My goal has always been to give every homebuyer the best experience possible so that my REALTOR® partners never have to worry about the lending or insurance side of the process,” he says. “Every time a REALTOR® refers a client, they’re putting their name on the line, and I take that seriously. That’s why I’ll always go the extra mile—to ensure their clients are taken care of, communication is clear, and the experience reflects well on everyone involved.”

Outside of work, Josh is a proud husband and father of four grown daughters who keep him motivated every day. A Colorado native, he loves fly fishing in the mountains, coaching baseball and softball, and cruising around town in his vintage ’71 VW Beetle. “Those moments remind me to slow down and appreciate the journey,” he says.

Whether helping families protect their homes or teaching young athletes how to bounce back after a tough game, Josh leads with the same principles that shaped him from the start—discipline, adaptability, and teamwork. And for him, that’s what building a true legacy is all about.
