Jen Hosey and Times Ten Design

Designing the First Impression

Jen Hosey built her career by paying attention to how buyers experience a home. Before launching her home staging company, Times Ten Design, Jen spent more than a decade selling real estate in Chicago, learning what people immediately loved, what made them hesitate, and how quickly a space could shape their perception of a home.

That insight still guides how she approaches staging today. “Staging is about positioning a home to appeal to the widest pool of buyers and creating a space that feels elevated, intentional, and market-ready,” Jen explains.

Jen didn’t originally set out to build a career in design. She grew up in the suburbs of Illinois before moving to Chicago for college, where she attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned a degree in psychology. However, she soon realized she was drawn to work that blended creativity with entrepreneurship.

Real estate became that path. After graduating, Jen quickly built a successful career selling homes in Chicago. She won Rookie of the Year in her first year as a REALTOR® and even appeared on HGTV’s House Hunters Renovation. But over time, one part of the job captured her attention more than anything else: staging.

Then during COVID, life shifted. Jen and her husband welcomed their first child and began thinking differently about the kind of life they wanted. They were craving sunshine, space, and more time outdoors. “Colorado felt like the right fit,” Jen recalls. “When we moved, I knew I wanted to step away from selling and lean fully into my love of design.”

Times Ten Design began in Jen’s basement. At first, she rented furniture through a rental company, but she quickly realized she wanted more control over the design, quality, and timelines. So, she began investing in her own inventory and building the business piece by piece.

“Our inventory is carefully curated and intentionally purchased—I select every piece myself with the goal of creating a look that feels elevated, modern, and memorable,” Jen explains. “Our style is organic, neutral, and modern, but we tailor every stage to the architecture of the home, while still maintaining the Times Ten look and vibe.”

Within the first year Jen hired her first employee and purchased a cargo van. Soon the operation expanded into storage units—at one point operating out of nine large units—before moving into its first warehouse.

From there, Jen added two box trucks, expanded the team, and grew the inventory to meet demand across the Denver metro area. Today Times Ten Design has the capacity to stage more than 70 homes at a time, allowing the team to move quickly even when real estate timelines shift.

There’s a reason for that growth. “I’ve built a full-service team and process that makes staging easy for agents,” Jen emphasizes. “With a full-time office manager, staging manager, and social media content creator, our behind-the-scenes systems are efficient, organized, and designed to support the fast pace of the Denver metro market. Our goal is always to be accommodating, responsive, and able to say yes when our clients need us.”

Her team also stages with another audience in mind. “I’ve worked closely with real estate photographers for years, which means we stage with the camera in mind,” Jen adds. “Every install is designed to photograph beautifully and stand out online, where most buyers form their first impression.”

That focus extends to helping agents expand their brand online. Times Ten Design also partners with REALTORS® to market both the listing and the agent’s brand.

“With a large Instagram following, we know how much design and visibility matter in today’s market,” Jen notes. “We help agents leverage that to strengthen their marketing and grow their business. Our clients trust us to take care of every detail so they can stay focused on their clients and the transaction.”

Jen’s work has earned recognition across the staging industry. Times Ten Design is accredited through Staging Studio as a Staging Design Professional®, and one of the company’s staged homes has been featured on HGTV. She is also a member of the RESA Denver Chapter as a RESA-PRO.

Today Jen lives in Castle Rock with her husband and their two sons, Jack and Henry. As a family, they love skiing, hiking, and spending time in the mountains. Jen enjoys barre workouts, reading a good thriller, exploring local breweries and DIY projects around the house.

Whether building furniture or tackling home renovations, Jen has always been drawn to projects that combine function, design, and personality. That same instinct continues to guide her work with Times Ten Design.
