Tahz Hawkins

Building Wealth, Breaking Boundaries

Authenticity, honesty, and standing up for what’s right—that’s what defines Tahz Hawkins. In an industry where appearances sometimes take precedence over substance, she refuses to sugarcoat the truth. It’s why her team awarded her the title of “Most Likely to Put Someone on Blast & Call Out Their B.S.,” a badge of honor that speaks to her commitment to transparency and integrity. “I don’t believe in just telling people what they want to hear,” she says. “I believe in guiding them to what they need to know.”

Born in San Diego and raised in Houston, Tahz moved to Colorado in 2006. Her work ethic and relentless drive are deeply rooted in the example set by her mother, Tammy. “She is the epitome of kindness, grit, and persistence personified,” she says. “I can thank my unwavering work ethic and get-it-done attitude to her.” Watching her build a corporate career while running a real estate and property management business planted a seed that would eventually grow into her own real estate career.

Before real estate, Tahz worked in tech sales at Lyft Business. But during the pandemic, the shift to remote work gave her the flexibility to finally pursue her real estate license—something she had wanted to do for years. “I always felt like real estate was something I should have in my back pocket,” she says. “Owning real estate is a life-changing asset that more people deserve to unlock in their lifetime.”

That mindset has shaped her approach as an agent. Since earning her license in 2021, she has built an impressive career, closing over $21.5 million in sales, with $9.1 million in volume last year alone. Her passion lies in helping others see real estate’s potential as a means to build the life they want. “I’ve seen tenfold what owning real estate can do because I’ve done it myself,” she explains. “Each year, I short-term rent my townhouse on Airbnb. Buying my home was the single best decision I’ve ever made for myself, and I want others to experience that same kind of freedom.”

Tahz’s direct, no-nonsense approach has made her stand out in the industry. But beneath that sharp wit is someone who deeply cares about her clients. “The most rewarding part of this business isn’t just guiding people through a transaction—it’s being alongside them for the ride. Reading client reviews and hearing about their experiences working with me is what keeps me going.”

But real estate isn’t all easy. “The hardest part? Waking up every morning unemployed and vying for a client’s business right next to 44,000 other agents,” she admits. “The highs in this industry are really high, and the lows can be brutal. They don’t mention that in real estate school.”

Despite the challenges, Tahz wouldn’t trade this career for anything. Being able to step into different properties—from sprawling $10 million ranches near Boulder to rundown duplexes in need of a total gut job—fuels her love for the business.

Tahz was previously with REAL and credits much of her early success to the brokerage’s leadership. “It’s cliché to say, but the leadership team at REAL is truly next level. They care about their agents. ‘Work Hard. Be Kind.’ wasn’t just a motto—it’s something we lived by.” She recently made the move to The Agency - Denver, where she continues to build on that foundation with the same values and vision for growth.

That belief in kindness and hard work translates into the way she approaches life and business. “Work hard and be kind. It’ll take you far,” she says. “And remember, there’s no ‘I’ in Top Producer. No one gets to the top alone. Real success is about building with others, not just for yourself. ”

Outside of real estate, Tahz is always on the move. She loves visiting her favorite sushi spots, hiking, traveling, and challenging herself in new ways—like taking German lessons. She also has a passion for giving back, supporting organizations like Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, which helps empower young girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Success, for Tahz, is about freedom. “Success is the ability to make decisions without a second thought. Success is choice. Success is health. Success is no financial worry. It’s whatever you want it to be—it’s a Mamba Mentality.”

As she looks ahead, Tahz wants to be remembered as someone who spoke up for what she believed in and pushed boundaries that no one else thought were worth crossing. “As agents, it can feel like we’re working against each other, but at the root of what we do, it’s about coming together. It’s not about who has the most awards or who has sold the most homes—it’s about being authentically you in business.”

And for Tahz, that authenticity is what makes all the difference.
