Be One Team
Building More Than a Team. Creating Careers, Culture, and a Movement
In an industry long defined by independence and individual performance, Be One Team | Compass (“Be One”) is challenging the status quo. The organization is proving that collaboration, culture, and intentional leadership can outperform the traditional real estate model.
What began as a small group of five agents in 2019 has evolved into a thriving organization of more than 140 professionals across multiple markets, including Denver, Dallas, and most recently, Nashville.
Be One has a clear mission of "giving agents a chance at a career in real estate" and its growth is the byproduct of purpose and the belief that people will outperform any system when developed the right way. That philosophy has been amplified through its partnership with Compass, whose modern platform and commitment to agent success have helped accelerate Be One’s ability to scale without compromising its standards.
A Different Kind of Opportunity
At its core, Be One was built to solve a problem that many in real estate quietly accept: most agents never build a sustainable career. Too often, new agents are left to figure things out on their own, navigating inconsistent income and a lack of mentorship. Be One exists to change that narrative.
Through structured onboarding and hands-on coaching, Be One equips agents with the skills needed to convert opportunities into consistent production. The focus remains on transformation rather than just transactions. "We’re not just teaching people how to sell homes," Gunnar Simon, General Manager adds. "We’re teaching them how to build lasting careers by delivering exceptional client experiences."
Where Culture Meets Performance
In many organizations, culture is a talking point. At Be One, it is operationalized. Guided by Core Values (Health, Hunger, Humble, Home, Happy, Helpful, Honest, and Heart), the team has created an environment where accountability and support coexist.
"Culture isn’t events or perks," Alex Chapman, Chief People Officer explains. "It’s how people feel when they’re winning and how they’re supported when they're not. That’s where real culture shows up."
This intentional approach has led to high performance and high retention. Be One has become the #1 team within Compass in Colorado and one of the top-performing teams nationwide. This success is by design—and is further enabled by Compass’s investment in infrastructure, office environments like the Denver Tech Center, and operational support that allows teams to focus on what matters most: developing agents and serving clients.
Systems That Scale Success
Behind the culture is a disciplined operational backbone. Director of Operations & Technology Mike Krueger and Finance Operations Specialist Philippe Espinet have built a cohesive tech ecosystem centered around optimizing lead flow, particularly through a strategic partnership with Zillow. Rather than leaving agents to source their own business, Be One provides consistent business opportunities paired with the integrated systems required to convert them.
Agents operate within a structured weekly cadence of coaching and performance tracking. This rhythm creates consistency, something many agents struggle to maintain on their own. The result is a model that replaces guesswork with clarity and execution.
Be One is also supported by Compass’s collaboration, which provides staffing, resources, and strategic partnerships to help grow efficiently across markets.
The Power of Leadership Through Others
One of the defining characteristics of Be One is its leadership model. Rather than relying on a single voice at the top, Be One has developed leaders within the organization to create layers of mentorship and accountability.
General Manager Gunnar Simon, Sales Leader Tanya Lores, and Senior Team Leads Nicole Pominville, Pete Simonson, and Mitch McGregor, play an active role in developing agents, reinforcing the belief that leadership is a responsibility rather than a title. This is further exemplified by the team’s top 5 performers—Melissa Craven, Erin Posey, Nate Forse, Anne Kim, and Cole Rudy—who consistently model what’s possible, set the standard for excellence, and help drive the playbook forward for those coming up behind them.
"We never wanted this to feel like a giant team where agents get lost, so we work really hard on team culture,” Tanya adds. “The goal has always been high support, real accountability, and helping people actually grow their business."
Adapting to a Changing Industry
As real estate evolves, Be One is actively integrating technology and AI into its systems. Rather than focusing on creating more systems, Be One is focused on consolidating systems and letting the integrations and AI handle the rest.
While tools may change, Be One believes the human element will only become more valuable, which is why our system priority is focused on getting agents in front of people, not in front of their computer. "The agent of the future isn’t just a salesperson," Director of Talent Acquisition Tiffani Queneau explains. "They’re a guide and a consultant helping clients navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives with confidence."
More Than a Brand: A Shared Vision
Beyond production, what sets Be One apart is its sense of shared purpose. The company’s vision, "Be 1% better every day," is a standard that drives continuous improvement.
Agents are encouraged to grow in their business and their lives by investing in their health and relationships. "At the end of the day, this isn’t just about real estate," Senior Team Leader Nicole Pominville says. "It’s about who you become in the process. If we can help people grow as professionals and as people, everything else takes care of itself."
Looking Ahead
With expansion into new markets and continued investment in leadership, Be One’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing down. Even as the company grows, its mission remains unchanged.
“We provide the arena for people to be one percent better every day. At Be One, you will outgrow who you were yesterday to create a life you’re proud of,” President and Co-Founder Michael Moghaddam says.
In an industry often driven by competition, Be One is proving that collaboration, consistency, and culture can only be created by a team.
