TONY & CHRIS VERANTH Tony Veranth Team at Mahler Sotheby’s International Realty.
Experience Matters EXPERIENCE MATTERS
Growing up in nearly back-to-back neighborhoods in the suburban areas of Racine, Wisconsin, Tony and Chris Veranth lived remarkably parallel lives. Both came from small families and attended local schools, but despite their proximity, their paths didn’t cross during their formative years. It wasn’t until later in life that they finally met, beginning a partnership that has now spanned nearly 31 years of marriage.
Today, that personal bond serves as the foundation for the Tony Veranth Team at Mahler Sotheby’s International Realty. While they are both outgoing, Chris describes herself as more of the social butterfly, while Tony brings a lifetime of sales grit to the table. Together, they have turned a shared life into a powerhouse real estate duo, proving their business tagline to be true: "Experience matters and two are better than one!"
They also spend a great deal of time together, and like any couple navigating both life and a high-pressure business, that dynamic comes with its “moments”. There is a constant back and forth, playful and sometimes a little spicy, that has become part of what makes them work. Clients see it firsthand and often joke that the two should have their own reality show.
The Road to Real Estate
Tony’s career in sales began long before he entered the professional world. At just 10 years old, he started a neighborhood grass-cutting business. That entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to various sales positions, including a significant tenure at FedEx, where he sold domestic and international express freight services. He officially transitioned into real estate in 1999, building a reputation for negotiation and client relations over the next two decades.
Chris, a graduate of UW–Madison, took a different path. She spent her early career working in private accounting, where she honed the meticulous project management skills that would eventually become the backbone of their real estate operations. For years, she talked about getting her license, finally “pulling the trigger” in 2018. She joined Tony full-time in 2019, and the impact was immediate.
“She never looked back and it was the best thing she did for herself, Tony and the team,” Chris reflects. “Not to pat myself on the back but people know the business elevated to a new level once I joined the team.”
The transition allowed the pair to divide and conquer, leaning into their individual strengths to scale their business. While Tony focuses on the front-end work of guiding clients through showings and inspections, Chris manages the operational side.
“One of the biggest challenges we’ve overcome is learning how to grow while maintaining a high level of personalized service,” Chris explains. “By leaning into our strengths—my husband focusing on negotiations and client relationships, and me managing operations, marketing, and transaction flow—we’ve been able to scale our business without losing the attention to detail our clients expect.”
Experience Matters
For the Veranths, the success of their business is rooted in the balance they provide. They believe that real estate requires a blend of high-level systems and deep personal connection.
“What makes us unique is the level of balance we bring to the client experience,” Chris says. “Real estate requires both strong relationships and strong systems, and we’ve built our business around both... That combination allows us to provide a level of service that feels both personal and seamless.”
This approach has guided them throughout their professional journey and continues to shape how they serve clients today. In 2025, they joined Mahler Sotheby’s International Realty, where they continue to refine and elevate their approach. As they look toward the future, their focus remains on refinement rather than just volume.
“Our goal for 2026 is to continue elevating the experience we provide to our clients,” they shared. “That means investing in better systems, stronger marketing, and refining how we operate as a team so that every transaction feels seamless, professional, and personalized.”
Family Spotlight
When they aren't navigating the Racine real estate market, Tony and Chris are often found spending time with their three adult children: Elle (29), Luke (26), and Clare (25). Because all three live locally or in Milwaukee, the family gets together frequently for dinner and cocktails.
“It is very fun to hang with our adult children,” Chris says. “They like being with us. Occasionally they spend the night at our house and that makes us happy. We wish they would stay longer!”
The Veranth household is also home to two rescue dogs, Emmy and Nola. While Chris jokes she would have five dogs if Tony would allow it, they find plenty of joy taking their current pair to the dog park and the beach.
Beyond their home life, both remain deeply involved in their community, Tony serves as a supervisor for District 10 on the Racine County Board, while Chris is an election chief for the Village of North Bay. When they do find time to step away, they enjoy quick getaways to recharge, often gravitating toward European coastal towns, local cuisine, and charming small establishments. Self-proclaimed foodies, they especially love discovering local spots, whether abroad or at Wisconsin supper clubs. Even so, their work is never entirely on pause. As Chris puts it, “In this business, we do work while we are away—there’s just no getting around it!”
