PETER GOHSMAN

No One Succeeds Alone

Peter Gohsman’s story begins in the heart of Milwaukee, but it’s a life that has moved in meaningful directions—each shift marked by family, service, and a steadfast belief in second chances.

In late 2018, Peter’s wife and business partner, Kim who also has bookkeeping business—suggested he explore real estate. “She has many Realtor clients. She suggested I consider a career in real estate. I got my license in 2019, started with Keller Williams full time in August of 2019 and haven't looked back.”

Not long after Peter joined Keller Williams, their daughter Katie Mueller got her license, and soon after their son Pete got licensed, followed by Kim taking the class and passing the test.  Peter says: “I was thrilled that our children wanted to work with us.  I was not prepared for the incredible contributions they would bring to what became The Gohsman Group.”

“I am a lifelong Milwaukee Metro resident,” Peter begins. He grew up in Shorewood, went to Atwater School, then St. Robert’s, and later Marquette University High School. It was during those formative years that he met Kim, the woman he would go on to marry. “We met at a dance in the gym at Divine Savior Holy Angels when we were sophomores. We just celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary!”

As their family grew—adding children Peter Jr., Colleen, and Katie—they moved west, settling in Wauwatosa. “When we were empty nesters we moved to Mequon and were able to help my parents in their twilight years,” he says. “Other than marrying well, helping my parents at the end of their lives is the best thing I have done. To be there for them was a gift that gave me great insight to how to be of service to Seniors and Elders and to their families.”

Before real estate, Peter built a decades-long award winning career in sales. From food and wine sales to housewares and international business, Peter advanced quickly, often moving into leadership roles. But like many careers, it wasn’t always a smooth road. “Unfortunately, businesses change over time and none of those businesses exist any longer.”

In 1996, Peter and Kim launched their own print brokering company, eventually serving more than 50 clients. The business supported their family, allowed them to travel, and gave them the flexibility they valued. But in 2008, the world shifted, and the business closed. "I worked a few other jobs, but I was constantly itching to be my own boss again.”

After interviewing with several real estate brokerages, Peter decided to join Keller Williams.
It was the right move. “Being a Realtor with Keller Williams is the best thing I’ve ever done, in the best place I’ve ever been, with the best colleagues and company I’ve ever had the pleasure to be associated with,” Peter says. “I am in business for myself, and not by myself.”

That difference became clear early. One client interaction stood out. “He grabbed my hand with both of his and he had tears in his eyes,” Peter recalls. “He said, ‘Thank you! I could not have done this without you.’ That’s when I realized that we don’t just help people buy and sell homes—we help them through life transitions.”

A top producer at Keller Williams Milwaukee and a member of the firm’s Agent Leadership Council, Peter is focused on leading others. “My business goal for 2025 is Delegate! Do less and do it better!” he says. “I want to grow our team and create the environment so our agents and admin team can develop and thrive.”

Outside of work, Peter remains deeply connected to his community. He’s a board member with the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce, a member of the local Rotary Club, and a FOCCUS facilitator with Kim for engaged couples at Old St. Mary’s Parish. He also serves on the membership committee at The River Club.

When asked what guides him, Peter’s answer is simple. “My favorite quote is, ‘Much is expected from those to whom much has been given,’” he says. “No one succeeds alone.”

And for Peter Gohsman, that’s more than a quote—it’s the way he lives, every single day.
