BECKY THOMAS

BEYOND THE NUMBERS

Some careers are carefully mapped out. Others have a way of finding us.

For Becky Thomas, real estate was never part of the original plan.

In 2020, Becky had just completed her fourth degree and was serving as the director of a physical therapist assistant program at a local college. She had built a successful career in healthcare and education and was deeply invested in the work she was doing. Then, the real estate agent who had helped Becky and her family purchase their home suggested something unexpected: Becky should become a real estate agent herself.

Her immediate response was no.

“I really had no intention of going into real estate,” Becky recalls. “But she kept encouraging me, and eventually I thought, why not get my license and see where it leads?”

Where it led surprised even Becky.

She began selling real estate in 2021 while continuing to lead the physical therapist assistant program, balancing two demanding careers for the next three years. What began almost as an experiment quickly grew into something much more meaningful.

By 2023, Becky had successfully guided the college program through its 10-year accreditation review while simultaneously reaching $20 million in real estate sales. It was a defining moment. She knew it was time to turn the program she loved over to a new director and give real estate her full attention.

And from there, the business grew quickly.

In 2025, Becky earned her broker’s license and hired her first full-time administrator, allowing her to expand the business while continuing to provide the highly personal level of service that had become central to her brand.

Then, in 2026, an especially meaningful milestone arrived. On August 24—Becky’s 50th birthday—she closed on a home she had listed that took her career sales beyond $100 million in just five and a half years. The timing felt almost poetic.

But ask Becky about that accomplishment, and the conversation rarely stays focused on the number for long. Because for her, the numbers have never been the point.

Behind every sale is a person, a family, a transition and a story. A home can represent a new beginning, a long-awaited dream, a difficult goodbye, an investment in the future or simply the place where the next chapter of life will unfold. That is the part of real estate Becky loves most.

A More Thoughtful Way Home
Becky’s approach to real estate was shaped, in part, by an experience she never wanted her own clients to have.

Her first experience purchasing a home was difficult and impersonal—so much so that when someone first suggested she become an agent, the idea held very little appeal. Eventually, though, her perspective changed.

“I remember thinking, maybe instead of allowing that experience to turn me away from real estate, I could use it to do things differently,” Becky says. “I wanted people to feel genuinely cared for, well informed and confident throughout the process. I wanted to change the way people think about working with a real estate agent.”

That philosophy continues to guide her business today.

For Becky, luxury is not defined solely by a price point. It is a level of service.

It means anticipating needs before they arise. It means understanding that the smallest details matter. It means honest communication, thoughtful preparation, exceptional marketing and being fully present when a client is making one of the most significant financial and personal decisions of their life.

Whether she is representing a first-time homebuyer or a multimillion-dollar lakefront estate, Becky believes every client deserves that same standard of care.

Her previous career prepared her for that approach in ways she never could have anticipated.

As a physical therapist and educator, Becky spent years listening closely, solving complex problems, educating people through unfamiliar situations and helping them move toward important goals. Those same skills now form the foundation of her real estate practice.

“I don’t ever want someone to feel like they are simply another transaction,” she says. “I want them to know that I am invested in their outcome and that I’m going to take care of the details, advocate for them and help them make the best decision for their life.”

That commitment has become the heart of Becky’s business—and perhaps the real story behind the numbers.

Because while $100 million in sales is a milestone worth celebrating, Becky measures success differently. It is found in the clients who become friends. The families who call her again years later. The introductions to parents, children, neighbors and colleagues. The trust that carries from one transaction into the next.

And in a business often measured by volume, awards and rankings, Becky has built hers around something much harder to quantify: Relationships.

For her, that will always be the most meaningful measure of success.
