Renée first entered the mortgage industry in 1999 and has grown from a lender to a power player in the market.
Colten Mortgage is a newer company made up of professionals with decades of experience and a commitment to providing both agents and homeowners stellar service. “Colten Mortgage was established with the intent to simplify the financing process for homebuyers, REALTORS® and builders by forming a dependable team of experienced professionals,” Renée shares. “Colten is large enough to offer all loan programs but small enough to be nimble and react swiftly to market changes.”
Renée is the kind of professional who makes other people want to be better at their jobs just by spending time with her. Her commitment to her customers and referral partners is unmatched. She has a deep understanding not only of lending but of business, marketing and the power of your own personal brand. She had a high-school cheerleading coach whom she credits for the personal accountability she takes in her business. “She would frequently remind me that I represented our collective brand and that I needed to represent it well,” recalls Renée. “Today, I don’t think of it as I work for Colten Mortgage. I AM the Stuart of The Stuart Team. I feel a great responsibility to represent my brand well by consistently providing the highest level of service and exceeding expectations.”
“My mission is to make sure my clients are informed and confident in their loan program and the mortgage process,” shares Renée. “To the agents who partner with me, I never take that trust or partnership for granted. I work hard to ensure you have a more successful business with me as your lender.” Renée loves working with all clients and guiding them through what can feel like an overwhelming process to a buyer. She especially finds joy and satisfaction working with first-time homebuyers. “I love knowing I’m helping someone change the trajectory of their lives and their families' lives by becoming a homeowner. Often generational wealth is built through real estate and being part of a family buying a home for the first time is a feeling I’ll never get tired of celebrating,” shares Renée.
In the Stuart home, mortgage is a family business. Renée and her husband, Jim, run The Stuart Team together. “I met Jim in the mortgage business. I’ll always have an affinity for this industry,” says Renée. “There is no one else I would choose to spend all day every day with. He is my best friend, business partner and an amazing father.” Renée is a bonus mom to three grown daughters, and she and Jim have a 9-year-old son. When she isn’t at the office, you’ll most likely find her running on the trails, supporting her son at school activities or relaxing with her family at the lake.
Renée believes strongly in creating her own success. “You can’t wait for someone else to achieve your goals for you. You have to get out there and make it happen for yourself,” she says. Renée credits many strong women in her life for being role models and helping push her to new limits. She probably doesn’t yet realize she’s that same person for her children, coworkers, homebuyers, agents and everyone else lucky enough to interact with her.
