TJ GUILLOT

Rhythm, Roots, and Real Estate

Raised on the Westbank of New Orleans, TJ Guillot carries with him the heart of the city—its rhythm, resilience, and sense of community. Now a top-producing agent with Waymaker Realty, TJ blends a rich background in food service with an unmistakable passion for people.

“My journey has been anything but ordinary, and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he says.

Before real estate, TJ spent years navigating the fast-paced world of restaurant sales. With what he describes as a “Master in Beef” and deep roots in culinary service, he learned lessons that continue to guide his approach today: hustle, precision, and most importantly, connection. “My background in the food service industry taught me the value of hard work, attention to detail, and the importance of delivering exceptional service,” TJ explains.

But like many, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a shift. TJ found himself reevaluating everything. “I used the last of my savings to get my license, unsure of what the future would hold, but I knew I had to take the chance,” he recalls.

Three years later, TJ’s gamble has paid off. Now a decorated agent, he’s been named Rookie of the Year and Realtor of the Year—twice. He’s also recognized as one of New Orleans’ top real estate professionals. Despite the rapid rise, TJ says the real reward lies in the relationships. “The satisfaction of guiding clients to their goals makes every challenge worth it.”

TJ operates as an individual agent, preferring the one-on-one connection with his clients. “Being an independent Realtor allows me to provide personalized service... I take pride in being able to manage every aspect of my business,” he says.

That personal touch is more than just a business strategy—it’s a reflection of who he is. Whether he’s making creative house tour videos featuring dance routines, or sharing his foodie finds on social media, TJ’s authenticity is front and center. “I bring a lot of energy and creativity to my work,” he says. “It’s a fun way to show my personality and engage with clients.”

Outside of work, TJ’s energy doesn’t slow. He’s an active member of the 689 Swampers dance team, a hobby that blends fitness, expression, and community. “Dancing is a great way for me to have fun, stay active, and connect with others who share the same passion.”

Family time is equally important. TJ and his fiancée Jenny have three children—Caleb (14), Amelia (11), and Blakeley (7). “We love spending time together, whether we’re out exploring, trying new restaurants, or just making memories wherever we go,” he shares.

As he looks ahead to 2025, TJ is focused on continued growth—both professionally and personally. “I want to grow my network and continue learning, all while maintaining the balance I’ve worked so hard to create between work and personal life.”

TJ also gives back. A former high school soccer player, he supports local youth sports programs. “It’s important to me to help create opportunities for kids to get involved in sports and build teamwork, leadership, and discipline,” he says.

If there’s a philosophy that ties TJ’s story together, it’s simple: respect. “Respect for people, time, and opportunities,” he says. “Whether it’s respecting a client’s needs, valuing the time and efforts of a team, or honoring opportunities to grow... respect is what allows everything to flow smoothly.”

And when it comes to home, TJ keeps it light-hearted and true to his roots: “Home is where you dance like no one is watching.”
