Meet Miranda Bird of Revolution Mortgage

When it comes to mortgages, Miranda Bird of Revolution Mortgage caters to her clients from start to finish. She explains, “We take care of everyone. Mortgages aren’t supposed to be stressful. They are supposed to be fun. It’s only supposed to be stressful for the lender, but the clients should never know that! That’s always my strategy.”

With her mindset, she is able to break down misconceptions about mortgages, creating a better customer experience. By listening carefully to clients and collaborating with her loan team, mortgages are easier than before.

Made for Mortgages

Six years ago, Miranda started in the mortgage business and discovered her passion. She followed in her family’s footsteps in mortgages. Her mother, Jill Taylor, is an area branch production manager for Revolution Mortgage.

“My sister is a branch manager, and my grandma is a sales manager,” adds Miranda. “My husband and I run Midland. It’s a big family ordeal. Between our group of people, we have 80 years of experience and we constantly bounce ideas off each other.”

While Miranda tried other careers, they were never the right fit. After her first day of work in the mortgage industry, she called her mother and told her that she liked the job. She’s been helping people ever since.

“Our family understands what it takes to get clients to the finish line, and we do it as a team,” says Miranda.  “I worked my way up in the industry, starting with five to six branches as a processor.” She has a strong operational background and used to work for Gateway.

“There were only two processors prior to me who had gotten promoted to branch manager,” explains Miranda. She has proven herself time and time again.

Caring about Clients

What sets Miranda apart is her heart of compassion and warmth for her clients.

“I genuinely care about people having a good experience,” she says. “I truly look at the people and we really are family.” Seeing people come in who didn’t think they could afford a house and watching them qualify for homeownership is very rewarding.

“That is the epitome of what the American dream is,” she says. “They get a small piece from participating in it. It’s amazing what we do, and I really love it.”

Even with rising mortgage rates, Miranda embraces an optimistic outlook. She says, “You marry the house, but you date the rate.” This encouragement has helped a lot of clients open the door to homeownership.

For those who have low credit scores, Miranda takes the time to develop a strategy to improve their credit. She comments, “We don’t leave the clients. We help them budget and put them in contact with people who can deal with the credit issues.”

Revolution Mortgage also has a lot of programs to help people, such as TSAHC (Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation). “It’s a game-changer for teachers, firefighters, policemen, first responders, a single mom with two kids or a young family that is about to begin,” points out Miranda. “Sometimes it’s hard to have that down payment. TSAHC gives them a grant to get into their house.”

Bringing the Revolution to Texas

Revolution Mortgage, which is new to Texas, has been welcomed by locals. As Miranda says, “We are bringing the Revolution to Texas.” Although she is thankful for her time at Gateway, with Revolution Mortgage, she can service more clientele and have more opportunities.

“We do all kinds of crazy stuff,” says Miranda. “If it’s a loan, we have a loan program for it. We are also allowed to do commercial loans, which has been a whole new world for me.”

When it comes to choosing a mortgage lender, Miranda is always available to her clients, including after hours and on the weekends. She jokes, “People aren’t buying homes Monday through Friday from 9 to 5. They’re working!” That’s why she makes herself readily available to her clients at times that are convenient for them. Her clients also like that they get “two loan officers for the price of one.” She and her husband, James, a sales manager who has been in the industry for three years, is a top producer. He and Miranda work together.

“James and I have been together for six years, and we have three little kids,” adds Miranda. They are also involved in the community.

Miranda also caters to REALTORS® and is “adamant” about helping them sell homes. She has even made appearances at open houses and has a heart of gratitude for Real Producers, which has helped her connect with more people and increased her exposure.
