JENA GIBBS
Bet on Yourself
Jena Gibbs knows what it means to build something from the ground up.
Long before she was leading The Gibbs Group with eXp Realty, earning the company’s ICON Agent Award four years in a row, or helping clients navigate everything from first homes to luxury properties, farms, acreage, and investments, she was a small-town girl growing up on a family farm in Southern Illinois.
It was there that Jena learned the value of hard work — not as an abstract idea, but as a way of life.
“I’ve always been a worker. If I’m not working, I don’t feel productive,” she says. “I grew up on a family farm which taught me hard work ethics. It also taught me to work hard to become the best version of myself daily. Anything is possible if you try.”
Those lessons became part of Jena’s foundation. Family, community, responsibility, and treating people with respect continue to influence the way she lives, raises her children, and runs her business.
Today, she is a wife, mom of two, Realtor, and team leader serving Southern Illinois and surrounding communities. But her path to real estate wasn’t necessarily the one she expected.
A Leap Worth Taking
For a decade, Jena worked as a dental hygienist. It was a career she had worked hard to establish and one that offered stability. Eventually, however, she found herself ready for a different kind of professional life.
She wanted to work hard and remain self-driven, but she also wanted the flexibility to create her own schedule around her children.
In January 2022, Jena took the leap into real estate.
“Taking the leap into real estate was scary, but it became one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she says.
What followed was a career change that quickly became something much bigger. Real estate gave Jena an opportunity to build a business around the qualities that had always defined her: determination, adaptability, consistency, and an unwavering willingness to work.
She eventually created The Gibbs Group and stepped into the role of team leader. Along the way came a Rising Star Award and four consecutive years as an eXp Realty ICON Agent.
Yet for Jena, professional success has never been solely about recognition.
More Than a House
At its heart, Jena believes real estate is about people.
“The most fulfilling part of being a top agent is knowing that the work I do has a real impact on people’s lives,” she shares. “Real estate is about so much more than buying and selling houses.”
Every transaction represents a significant moment in someone’s life, and Jena doesn’t take that responsibility lightly. Her approach centers on personal connection, hard work, and the level of care she brings to every client.
That same philosophy extends beyond her business. Jena and her team are involved with Athlete of the Month at RBHS and local sponsorships, finding ways to remain connected to and supportive of their community.
The Life She’s Building
Away from the office, Jena’s world revolves around her family.
Her husband, Nathan, is an electrical lineman. Their son, Logan, is 13, and their daughter, Claire, is 11. Between baseball and volleyball, there is little shortage of activity — and Jena wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Our life revolves around baseball and volleyball. And we love it!” she says.
The gym is another constant. Fitness and personal growth are passions that keep Jena moving forward, both literally and figuratively. She is also passionate about empowering other women to believe they are capable of more.
For her children, she hopes to model that same courage. She wants them to see that a person doesn’t have to remain in one lane simply because it feels safe.
That philosophy may be the clearest reflection of Jena’s own journey. She left one career, embraced uncertainty, built another, and continues to challenge herself to grow beyond what she has already accomplished.
“My goal is to grow beyond the version of myself that got me here,” she says.
And perhaps that is the essence of Jena Gibbs: grounded in where she came from, grateful for what she has built, and never quite finished becoming who she wants to be.
“Don’t be afraid to outgrow the person you were yesterday. Bet on yourself, keep showing up, and trust that the work you’re putting in today is building the life you’ve been dreaming about.”
