STAYCE MAYFIELD
Purpose in Every Sale
When Stayce Mayfield talks about homes, it’s not just business — it’s personal. From her earliest days hammering and designing as a child to her current role as a listing specialist with Redfin, Stayce’s connection to real estate has always run deeper than square footage and staging.
“I’ve done construction and design since childhood,” she explains. That lifelong passion set the foundation for a career that’s now spanned two decades — a career that began behind the scenes and steadily moved to center stage.
Stayce started in the real estate world in 1999, working for a title company where she served as an escrow assistant, junior closer, trainer, and even developed office systems that are still in use today. But it wasn’t long before she realized the office walls were limiting her true calling.
“After years of learning the business I longed to be out of the office, seeing the homes and interacting with people,” she recalls. In 2005, she made the leap into real estate sales. One year later, the Austin Board of Realtors named her “Rookie of the Year.”
It’s a title that stuck — not just for the award, but for the energy.
Stayce brings a unique combination of creativity, compassion, and clarity to every deal. “I like to think that I take a different approach than most realtors,” she says. “I’m not in it for the commission. I truly do want to help people with their search.”
That mission shows in her results — and in her recognition. Stayce has earned a place in Redfin’s President’s Club for the past five years. But more than accolades, it’s her clients’ words that mean the most.
“Honestly, I love reading my testimonials,” she says. “It reminds me of how far I’ve come and what I do for each and every client.”
A Natural on Camera, and Off
Stayce’s ability to connect isn’t limited to open houses. In 2014, her natural charisma and hands-on skills earned her a spot on HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother. It was a fitting role for someone just as comfortable swinging a hammer as she is on camera.
But even with national exposure, Stayce’s favorite role has always been one she took on entirely by herself — mom.
Her son Justin, now 36 and a father of two, remains her proudest achievement. “Having raised him entirely on my own, I developed a gritty determination to make lemonade, even when life handed me sour lemons or no lemons at all,” she says.
That kind of resilience, she admits, wasn’t born from ease. “My past wasn’t easy, but I took what was thrown at me and made it work,” she adds.
New Roots, New Goals
In 2017, Stayce married Eric Mayfield and relocated to St. Louis. It’s where she continues her work as an individual agent and where she and Eric recently added a new family member — a deaf Aussiedoodle named Gordy. “He keeps us on our toes,” she says with a smile.
Together, they enjoy time with their grandsons Braxton (7) and Braylan (6), and Stayce keeps her creative fires burning through her deep love for theater. She’s directed children’s plays and dreams of opening her own black box theater “in hopes to get kids off the street and out of trouble.”
That goal, along with coaching new agents, defines what Stayce hopes to accomplish in 2025. “To have my own black box theater and to coach new agents on how to become a top agent,” she shares.
In the meantime, she continues giving back through her work with Spring Board, mentoring 5th graders in playwriting for the WiseWrite Festival.
Listening First
When asked what advice she’d give others aiming for success, her answer is simple: “Allow people to talk and just listen. You can learn so much about a person by going deeper with questions.”
In a career built on vision, values, and the desire to serve, it’s clear Stayce Mayfield doesn’t just sell homes — she helps people find where they truly belong.
