Anita McCracken Gives Back to One Community Now

It only takes one person to make a difference. REALTOR® Anita McCracken with Coldwell Banker F. I. Grey & Son Residential, Inc. has a heart for the community and gives back to One Community Now, Inc.

This nonprofit is a faith-based community organization founded in 2009 and they make a tangible difference in the community. Anita explains, “One Community Now is located in downtown New Port Richey and they run the Pack A Sack Food 4 Kids program to feed children over the weekend that otherwise go hungry.”

Anita donates to this worthy cause whose mission is to “help children, families and veterans who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless to improve their health and economic condition.” By collaborating with churches, businesses, schools, organizations, and government entities, they help unite community resources to fulfill the mission.

“It’s a great charity,” shares Anita. When she comes across people who are going to be homeless soon (because the landlord is selling their house), she refers them to One Community Now.

Anita has been giving back to One Community Now for 3 years. She knows that they address the needs of the community. They can help the homeless by putting them in hotel rooms while assisting them with their other needs, including food, personal hygiene items, employment, and financial assistance for future housing. One Community Now also does a lot to help homeless and at-risk veterans in the area. Their mission is simple – “Working Together, Changing Lives.”

Key programs focus on three areas: Eradicating Childhood Hunger, Empowering Employment Success, and Ending Veteran Homelessness.  What’s great about One Community Now is that they “do not intend to duplicate services or resources that are already provided in the community but instead try to help educate those in our community about resources that are available.” By taking a holistic approach, they can express God’s love in all that they do and say.

We want to thank Anita for giving back to One Community Now. Every dollar makes a difference for those who need it most!
