A Passionate Real Estate Broker with a Winning Work Ethic

Service-focused. Savvy. Strategic. Successful. All of these words describe Jeff Gould, a highly accomplished real estate broker with Jeffrey Gould Real Estate LLC with three decades of experience in the industry. He has helped countless clients to buy and sell homes in the area. Jeff is a dedicated professional who takes immense pride in his work and is passionate about helping his clients to achieve their real estate goals.

Growing Up in the ‘80s in New Jersey

Jeff has fond childhood memories of the ‘80s, the era of big hair bands, the rise of personal computers, and of shoulder pads and parachute pants. However, Jeff had his mind on the friendly skies. He comments, “My father was a pilot. When he flew, he was on seven days and off seven days. With his free time, he partnered and opened a small real estate boutique brokerage. Ever since I was a kid, I was around both real estate and airplanes. I loved them both. On the real estate side, my father and I had an investment company called Real Investors. We owned some investment properties and even built a few modular homes.”

Interestingly, Jeff’s original plan was to be a pilot. Sadly, issues with his legs at the time put an early end to those dreams. His love for aviation continues to this day, and eventually real estate became his career.

Moving to the Sunshine State

After spending time in Corporate America, Jeff felt lucky to have an opportunity to move to down to Florida in 2003. He says, “I couldn’t do the cold anymore.” He said so long to snow shovels and hello to sandals.

When he first moved to Tampa, he bought a sign company in South Tampa. “A retail space opened up next to the sign company,” he comments. “I thought it would be a great location for a real estate company. A friend at the time happened to be a real estate broker with a boutique real estate brokerage. I was able to get him to open a branch in that location.” This began his path to getting his Florida real estate license followed by his broker’s license.

“I’ve always been around real estate and loved it,” he reflects. “It was the natural way to go.”

Although the road hasn’t always been easy, especially surviving the Great Recession, Jeff was able to survive. “The company I was with at the time did some property management and ran some HOAs. I earned income while weathering the storm.” He also found it was a great learning experience as he persevered and learned the ins and outs of the industry.

A driven individual, Jeff has never had a problem staying motivated. He says, “I’ve always had a great work ethic.” His habits are ingrained in him, such as getting up at the same time each morning, eating lunch at the same time, and being in front of the computer at the same time. His clients have grown to depend on Jeff, realizing that he always has their best interests in mind. He can be counted on to help them achieve their real estate goals.

A Rewarding Journey

One of the most rewarding aspects of Jeff's work is helping his clients to purchase their first homes. He understands that many people are intimidated by the process, and he takes great pleasure in showing them how they can achieve their dream of homeownership.

“What excites me is when people can get into a house that they never thought they could ever attain. I realized that there were certain loans that you could utilize to help you get into a home relatively inexpensively,” he comments. Jeff helps his clients see the light, realizing that a mortgage payment is less than rent and can build home equity. It just makes sense to own a home. “Getting people into their first home is the most exciting thing,” he smiles. “It keeps me going.”

Jeff's philosophy is to find his niche and to never give up, and he advises other real estate professionals to do the same. He also emphasizes the importance of figuring out what works for each individual agent, whether it's buying leads, farming an area, or developing a personal brand. Jeff, an introvert, had to refine the methods that worked for his personality type.

Personal Pursuits

Outside of real estate, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family. He is married to his wife Kelley, who was a school teacher, and they have an eight-year-old son named Austin, who is homeschooled. Austin loves soccer, Ninja Warrior training, and playing with Legos.

To relax, Jeff plays softball and poker, and he uses those poker skills in the real estate industry, which helps him remain savvy in the competitive industry of real estate. Being able to read people has helped him in negotiations, client relationships, and his interactions with other agents.
