STEPHANIE HINSVARK

Finding Her Way Home

When Stephanie Hinsvark first entered real estate, she didn’t arrive with a long list of industry connections or a lifelong plan to sell homes. In fact, for nearly a decade, she worked in an entirely different world: healthcare. As an ICU nurse, Stephanie spent years helping people navigate some of the most stressful moments of their lives. What she didn’t realize at the time was just how much that experience would translate into her career in real estate.

“Working in healthcare got crazy, and I knew I needed to do something different,” Stephanie says. “I bought my own house and became really interested in the world of real estate. I loved looking at homes, going to open houses, and learning how the home-buying process worked.”
That curiosity slowly turned into something bigger. After attending an investment seminar hosted by The Team - Real Estate Advisors, Stephanie found herself drawn not only to the business itself but also to the people behind it. What began as a casual conversation quickly evolved into her shadowing agents, attending meetings, and immersing herself in every part of the industry she could.

“I just kept showing up,” she laughs. “Eventually, I got my license and was like, ‘So… I’m on The Team now, right?”

Stephanie officially earned her real estate license in January 2024, making her one of the newer faces in the Boston-area market. Despite being early in her career, she has already developed a reputation for determination, adaptability, and an ability to connect with clients in a genuine way.

“I thought I was going into the business of selling homes, but this is really a relationship business,” she says. “I’ve learned so much by meeting with clients, shadowing experienced agents, and going on inspections. It’s not always glamorous, you do spend a lot of time in dirty basements and crawl spaces, but that’s where you really learn.”

That willingness to learn quickly became one of Stephanie’s greatest strengths. Early on, she experienced the emotional rollercoaster nearly every agent faces. Deals falling apart. Closings are getting delayed. Months where the future felt uncertain.

“There was a point where I told myself, ‘If I don’t get something this month, I’m going back to the hospital,’” she admits.

Then came the call that changed everything.

A potential seller reached out about a multifamily property in Cambridge, but accidentally gave Stephanie the wrong address and an appointment to meet at the property the next day before hanging up. Instead of giving up, she went full detective mode, digging through public records and property databases until she figured out the correct property and showed up prepared the next day.

“That was my big fish,” she says. “I remember thinking afterward, ‘Okay… I really can do this.’”
Her nursing background has also shaped the way she approaches clients and challenges. While real estate can feel incredibly emotional for buyers and sellers, Stephanie brings a levelheaded perspective to every situation.

“In the ICU, you learn very quickly what stress actually looks like,” she says. “In real estate, even when something goes wrong, at the end of the day, nobody died. It helps me stay calm and help clients through stressful moments without panicking.”

That calm presence has become especially valuable for first-time homebuyers navigating an overwhelming process. Stephanie understands how emotional buying a home can be because she has experienced it herself.

More than anything, though, Stephanie says the most rewarding part of the job is watching clients find a place that truly feels like home.

“You can usually tell right away,” she says. “The second they walk through the door, something changes. Their faces light up, and you know that’s the house.”

While she originally entered real estate because of her love for homes and architecture, it’s the relationships that have kept her passionate about the business. Whether she’s connecting with clients over coffee, talking to strangers who later become referrals, or helping nervous buyers navigate difficult decisions, Stephanie has learned that real estate is ultimately about people.
Looking ahead, she hopes to continue building her business north of Boston alongside her husband, who also works with The Team. Together, they hope to create a strong presence throughout the North Shore communities they’ve grown to love.

For now, Stephanie is focused on continuing to grow, staying present, and trusting the process.
“You just have to keep showing up,” she says. “Even on the hard days.”
