Cackie Morrow Garner

Selling over $75 million in real estate is no small feat, especially for Cackie Morrow Garner of The Dave Friedman Team at Keller Williams who is not only a full-time agent in Charleston, but also running a very successful real estate career in Charlotte.  Having been an agent for over nine years, and in two busy markets, Cackie’s knowledge and fire to succeed have been just a couple of reasons why the Charleston market is lucky to have her.  As she was basically born to be a real estate agent, Cackie has taken her talents and love of helping others to build something special here, and she’s really only just getting started.

“I believe that I always knew I would end up working in the real estate industry. I grew up watching my mom build big beautiful homes in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte, NC, where I was born and raised and spent 32 years. My husband and I decided to take a leap of faith and relocate to the Holy City. I spent some of the best years of my life at the University of Alabama, majoring in marketing and specializing in Sales. I thank the University for sharpening my sales skills as I learned a lot through their sales program. It was actually through their program that I got my very first job! I was happy to be a senior graduating from college with a job already lined up! Luckily, there was an opening at one of the most luxury apartment complexes in the city! I was so excited to be a leasing agent and learn the world of property management.”

Growing up immersed in the real estate world definitely gives Cackie an edge over the competition.  Having been in property management also didn’t hurt, as she has learned the business from the ground up.  Specifically, learning how to build lasting relationships with clients and fellow agents, just like her mom did.

“My mom taught me a lot about the significance of relationships.  I watched her form so many strong relationships. She also taught me the importance of having resources on call when you need them, like plumbers, painters, etc. Watching her build those relationships over 20 years has shown me that the loyalty formed with different people can only help my clients, and that was something I admired and wanted to copy. No matter what, strengthening those relationships to get things done quicker and more efficiently for my clients is one of my top priorities.”

It probably goes without saying that Cackie may be one of the busiest women in real estate.  Being successful in our market is one thing, being successful in our market AND in Charlotte is another beast entirely.  Not only is she crushing her sales in both markets, but she is also heavily involved in the Charleston Business Group.  As Managing Director, Cackie has really honed in on her networking skills, proving that putting yourself out there is a gateway to being successful.

“I am currently serving as the Managing Director for the newly founded Charleston Business Group. This group was founded by the owners of Charlotte Business Group, which has existed for over five years and consists of some major corporate sponsors and over 1,200 members. We currently have a little over 100 members and are the fastest growing networking group in Charleston. We have two socials each month, one happy hour and one coffee. It is a great place for business owners, employees, entrepreneurs, and all, to come and network and meet like minded individuals. Once again, by making connections and forming relationships.” The group meets at Henry’s on Market, and due to the historical significance, is the perfect place in Charleston for the group to meet and learn from each other.

When she isn’t working her tail off buying and selling real estate, or meeting new people, Cackie is super motivated to be a sort of sounding board for newer agents. She loves mentoring and plans on getting even more involved with that in the future through Dave Friedman’s mentorship program.  When she does have extra time at the end of the work day, which is definitely a rarity, you can find Cackie with her husband, Charlie, who is the co-founder of Fulton Peak Capital LLC., a commercial multi-family investment firm focused on acquiring, repositioning, and operating rental housing properties throughout the mid-atlantic and southeast since 2020, with offices in Raleigh, Charleston, and Washington D.C.  They love utilizing their membership at Freedom Boat Club, spending time with their two dogs on the boat, and Snee Farm Country Club to take in all that life in Charleston has to offer.  Some of their favorite places to go here are Shem Creek, Pour House, Co-Op, and Home Team BBQ, but that’s when they aren’t traveling to places like the West Indies and South Africa.  Going to the beach and live music are also passions of Cackie and Charlie’s, as they have even traveled to Mexico to see their favorite bands!

This is not Cackie’s first time as a featured agent, as Charlotte Real Producers saw how great she was from the start!  With her desire to connect with as many people as possible, she really wants other agents to know how, “Important forming strong relationships are. Always be loyal, and have fun! Watching how Real Producers brings so many of us together, and using all of those strong connections with the magazine and beyond, I’ve made connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. More importantly, I am given the opportunity to now do that in the city of our dreams!” Living the dream for Cackie is being in Charleston, by the beach, and becoming a Top Producer in not one, but two markets! The way things are going, there is no doubt she will be at the top of this market just like she is in Charlotte, and our market is better for having her be a part of it.
