MICHAEL GIOTIS COAKLEY BROTHERS

More Than a Move

For Michael Giotis, the moving business has never been just about boxes and trucks. In his role as a relocation consultant with Coakley Brothers, it’s about guiding people through moments of change—often stressful ones—and making those transitions feel manageable, organized, and even reassuring.

“At Coakley Brothers, we specialize in comprehensive relocation and logistics services, helping individuals and organizations move, manage, and transition their spaces efficiently,” Michael explains. “Our core offerings include residential and commercial moving, corporate relocation, warehousing and storage, and furniture installation.”

That breadth of service is intentional. While many companies focus solely on transportation, Coakley Brothers has built its reputation as a full-service partner. From asset management to workspace reconfiguration, the company supports clients well beyond moving day.

“What sets us apart at Coakley Brothers is our commitment to being more than just a moving company—we strive to be a true partner in every transition,” Michael says. “We focus on service, reliability, and attention to detail, whether it’s a residential move or a complex commercial project.”

Central to that philosophy is what the company calls its “Diamond Class” standard—a benchmark that shapes every client interaction. For Michael and his team, that means responsiveness, professionalism, and a level of care that extends from the first consultation to the final placement of furniture.

“We take a personalized, high-touch approach, tailoring each project to our clients’ needs,” he says. “At our core, we’re guided by a simple principle: take care of people, and the rest will follow.”

That mindset is what drew Michael into the industry in the first place. After growing up in the Milwaukee area, attending Homestead High School, and continuing his education at MATC, his early career took a very different path—running kitchens and managing high-pressure environments. Along the way, he also competed as a freestyle snowboarder, developing discipline and resilience that would later define his professional approach.

“When I discovered this industry, I found a way to combine my love of helping people with my knack for logistics and planning,” he says. “I get to guide clients through one of life’s biggest transitions, easing stress and making the process as smooth as possible.”

That sense of purpose still drives him today. In an industry where timing, coordination, and communication can make or break an experience, Michael leans into preparation and proactive service.

“I’m especially passionate about helping people through what can often be a stressful time,” he shares. “I take pride in easing that process—guiding clients, anticipating needs, and making the experience as smooth and worry-free as possible.”

He’s quick to point out that none of it happens alone. The Household Goods team at Coakley Brothers plays a critical role in delivering the consistency clients expect. With leadership from Joan Hauenstein as Director of Residential Relocation, alongside consultants and operations support, the group works collaboratively to ensure each move is seamless.

“I love collaborating with this team because we all live by our Diamond Class standard—handling every move with care, clear communication, and attention to detail,” Michael says.

That level of coordination is especially valuable for real estate professionals, many of whom rely on trusted partners to protect their client relationships. Michael sees his role as an extension of that responsibility.

“Top producers should have us in their network because we help protect and elevate their client experience,” he explains. “We act as an extension of your team… delivering a seamless experience your clients will remember.”

For Michael, success isn’t measured strictly in completed moves or satisfied clients—though those matter. It’s something broader.

“I define success as living a balanced and fulfilling life—spending quality time with my loved ones, pursuing my passions, and staying active and healthy,” he says.

Outside of work, that means time with his son, staying active outdoors, and embracing a sense of adventure—whether that’s golfing, skateboarding, or simply enjoying time with family and friends.

Still, the throughline remains the same: people first.

“I’m more than just a moving consultant—I’m a partner they can rely on,” Michael says. “I take pride in being hands-on, detail-oriented, and invested in every project.”
