JEFF LIEN & LIEN TEAM REAL ESTATE
The Real Estate Advantage
For Jeff Lien, real estate has never been simply a career. It has been part of his life for nearly as long as he can remember.
Born and raised in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Jeff graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1984 before heading to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he studied business and real estate. As the youngest of four boys, he learned early how to speak up and hold his ground. At home, he also had an unusually close introduction to the real estate business: his mother, Elaine Lien, was a highly respected, top-producing agent throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s. Jeff began watching her work when he was around 10 years old. By the time he graduated from college, he already understood what the business demanded.
“Growing up in a real estate family was an education in itself,” Jeff says. “The relationships I've built over almost 50 years have been just as critical to my ongoing growth as anything I learned in a classroom.”
A Family Foundation
Before joining his mother’s company in 1989, Jeff worked a variety of jobs, including dishwasher, cook, landscaper, bartender, and construction. Each experience reinforced the value of hard work.
After college, he joined his mother in real estate and helped build one of the industry’s first real estate teams in the late 1980s. Over the years, the business expanded beyond residential sales to include investment property, land, and development, while Jeff developed relationships with builders and developers throughout Southeast Wisconsin.
Today, Jeff is Owner & Principal Broker of Lien Team Real Estate, part of First Weber Realtors and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices of America. He leads Lien Team Real Estate Group, which has been one of Wisconsin’s top-performing teams for more than 40 years.
The team combines experienced real estate agents Brandon Gamble, Connor Vafi, Jayson Rahmlow, and Chris Krieg with administrator/agent Jane Parke and marketing and operations leadership from Eric Lien. Together, the team is known for effective communication, innovative marketing, solid pricing strategy, and a high-touch client experience. Its approach includes data-driven pricing, professional photography, digital marketing across more than 200 sites, and full-service support from preparation through closing.
"We've been doing this in these neighborhoods for 40 years, and it comes down to one thing: doing right by the people who trust us with the biggest transaction of their lives. That means a real pricing strategy, not a guess — clear communication the whole way through — and negotiating like it's our own house on the line. Clients don't remember the marketing. They remember that we were straight with them and got the deal done right."
Built on Relationships
Jeff’s accomplishments reflect decades of consistency. He was named “Rookie of the Year” in his first year, 1989, and has been First Weber’s #1 All-Company Sales Leader more than 25 times, most recently in 2025. The Lien Team ranks in the top 1.5% of real estate teams in the U.S. and #4 in Wisconsin, according to the 2026 RealTrends Verified ranking. Over more than four decades, the team has closed more than $1 billion in transactions.
Yet Jeff says the numbers are not what people remember most.
“What people remember most isn't the numbers — it's how we show up: calm, sharp, honest, and genuinely fun to work with,” he says.
That philosophy extends to the clients themselves. Jeff finds particular fulfillment in helping first-time buyers achieve homeownership and assisting older clients as they transition into retirement and downsize.
“The bonds that form through these transactions make me feel like I become part of these families, not just their agent,” he says.
Outside of work, Jeff enjoys life with his wife, Darcy, and their three children, Hunter, Tyler, and Delany. All five family members are University of Wisconsin–Madison graduates. The family lives in the Lake Country area in Delafield and spends time at their cottage near the Wisconsin Dells, where boating, tubing, lake surfing, and e-foiling are favorite activities.
Jeff also enjoys golfing, hiking, biking, traveling, and attending races at Road America. His passion for automobiles goes back to his childhood and his brother Mark’s auto body shop.
As Jeff looks ahead, his goal is to continue growing the people around him and build on what the team has already accomplished.
“We'll keep leveraging what we've learned over the years and combine it with the latest tools, including AI, to deliver more value to our prospects and clients,” he says.
For Jeff, the foundation remains remarkably simple: relationships, hard work, integrity, and treating people right.
“Your reputation in this business is everything — people need to like you, know you, and trust you.”
And after more than 40 years in real estate, that philosophy remains his advantage.
