Anthony Donato Of Donato Law

Leading with Efficiency and Expertise

Since its founding in 2003, Donato Law has become one of the Triad’s most well-respected residential and commercial real estate law firms. Anthony Donato has captained the ship of Donato Law since the beginning, helping the company become a well-known entity in North Carolina.

Born on Ft. Meade Air Force Base in Maryland and raised near Columbus, Ohio, Anthony Donato landed in the Triad in 1995. His wife, Lisa, is from Greensboro, and she and Anthony decided North Carolina would be where they’d set down roots, grow their careers, and start a family.

After passing the bar in 1995, Anthony spent three years in litigation. He started practicing real estate law in 1998, and by 2003, he founded Donato Law. More than twenty years later, he is thriving as a father, husband, and business owner
“My mother-in-law got me started on it, as she is a real estate agent in town. She encouraged me to start doing real estate transactions. I found out I enjoyed handling transactions. I established some solid relationships with a few agents and lenders and my practice took off very quickly,” Anthony reflects.

A Relational Model
Anthony has been practicing real estate law for 25 years, becoming one of the area’s most experienced real estate attorneys. He’s seen countless changes to market conditions and closing requirements and has stayed educated, present, and available for clients and partners at each turn.
Donato Law manages a blend of residential and commercial real estate law. Although Anthony is the firm's only lawyer, his experienced support staff allows the team to handle a steady stream of business. Anthony runs a REALTOR® and lender-driven practice that offers both efficiency and expertise.
“We pride ourselves in being efficient and thorough,” Anthony says. “For a small firm, we can handle a lot of work.”

Setting Up for Success
Anthony has seen a lot in his law career, and his advice to REALTORS® is to always cover the basics with every transaction.
“It's very important that we get the information we need to prepare documents accurately as soon as possible… So my advice to the agent is to make sure we get what we need so we can all work together to hit the deadlines,” Anthony explains. “We’re always here to help.”
2020 and 2021 were two of the most unusual years in the industry. The explosion of refinances and purchases was a boon to business, but now the market is turning. Although business has slowed somewhat, Anthony is not worried. He believes the Triad is in a good position to weather any storm.
“The pace before was almost unsustainable,” he says. “I think that where we are in the Triad area, we’re going to have a constant flow of work. Although the refinance period is over, there's still heavy interest for housing and jobs here. Even though homebuyers have had to adjust their budgets due to the rising mortgage rates, demand is still high. We were slow at the beginning of the year, but things have picked up.”
While change is on the horizon, Anthony’s business is as steady as they come. He envisions many more years marked by stability and service to the real estate community.
“I plan to keep practicing here for a long time. I love living in Greensboro.”  Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, Donato Law P.C. specializes in residential and commercial real estate law. The firm also serves clients in business law and estate planning. For more information, visit www.anthonydonatolaw.com.
